Spatial relates to this class because mapping has a lot to do with open space because they were trying to put that space into relation and make sense of that space.
Pavlovskaya talks about spatial and geospatial information and how it has been used. “Moreover, because of the wide use of geospatial technologies by new generations of activists resisting the conservative realignments of power, mapping projects have become a vehicle for organizing against the assault of the neoliberal economy, neoliberal urbanism, and neoliberal policy.” (43). It is interesting to see how this geospatial information from GIS is used for advocacy and social and political issues.
